“So, Do You Want to Get Married?”

"So, Do You Want to Get Married?"

"…we both found, in each other, what we both had been looking for in a person, all our lives."

Dear Catholic Match.com,

My name is Troy and I'm writing from my fiancee's computer and profile to thank you for what a great website you have and also for helping me find my future wife. I had just joined St. Raphael.net on January 12, 2004 and after signing up and viewing the matches that you had provided me. I saw so many profiles, but one in particular caught my eye. I read her profile and I was impressed and wanted to write to her. I really didn't think that I would get a reply at first, but then the next day I had a "novel length" reply. Before I clicked open, I figured it would be a "thanks, but no thanks" type of reply. Boy, was I wrong! I read it over a couple of times (three times to be exact) and wrote her back that night. Over the next nine days, we wrote seven "novel type" e-mails back and forth. Then on January 22, 2004, we had our first phone conversation. Over the next nine days after that, we talked for a combined total of 20 hours. Our first in-person date, was January 31st. We were both very nervous, because we were both very much attracted to each other, but after a couple of hours, it seemed like we had known each other forever. Our conversation was nothing different from the 20 hours we had logged on the phone. She told me that I had earned alot of points by taking her to Saturday Vigil Mass and praying before dinner that night at Fuddrucker's in San Francisco. Over the next few months, we went on hikes, visited museums, went to Tahoe skiing, Disneyland, Las Vegas…you name it…we've been there :) Well, not exactly, but you get the idea!!! On May 8th, 2004, after her brother's wedding, we were driving back home, and I asked if she would like to get married. She thought I was joking around and asked me about 5 times if I was serious. And after assuring her I was serious, she let out a scream and said, "OF COURSE I'LL MARRY YOU!!!" And immediately had to call her mom. We are getting married on April 2, 2005 and we can hardly wait. It's been pretty quick, but we both found, in each other, what we both had been looking for in a person, all our lives. It's been a great experience and I can't thank you enough what you have done for us. God Bless!
