Someone For Everyone

Someone For Everyone

I (Mary) am writing this success story because in a way I never thought I'd be writing one. I remember reading the success stories and doubting that I would ever have a story to tell. I was single for a very long time and tried a variety of dating and online sites over the years without much success. I actually was starting to accept that perhaps God wanted me to be single so that I could devote my time and energy to my patients, and my career as an oncology nurse practitioner. My best friend told me that I should try Catholic Match, because she saw some nice profiles and thought that it might be a better avenue for me. I was quite pessimistic and jaded. but decided I didn't have much to lose. I posted my profile and left the rest in God's hands.

As I was looking at profiles, Kevin's great smile and active lifestyle caught my eye. When I started reading his profile, I found out he has an Irish heritage just like me. So I decided to send him a quick hello. He wrote back andI was happy. We corresponded for a while, and I gave him my phone number but did not hear from him right away. We continued to be in contact by e-mail. I knew I liked the guy, but found myself guarded because I wasn't sure if he was just looking for a pen pal.

We e-mailed back and forth for two months. Finally he called, and we set up a meeting for Thanksgiving weekend.  When we met it was like we were long time friends. The two months of prior communication allowed us to get to know each other very well and build a solid base for our friendship. In less than two months, Kevin told me he loved me, and six months after we metm he proposed.

Our relationship has been very easy and stress free. Our families get along great and actually live in the same city.  We communicate very well and have common life goals. We are getting married on December 29, 2007, six days before my 40th birthday. So I won't be lying when I tell people I was married in my thirties. And to think I never thought it would happen. So have faith and keep looking…God has someone for each of us.
