Made In Heaven

Made In Heaven

My name is James Toloski. In the early spring of 2006 I began a quest to find a beautiful, Catholic woman. I was a bit skeptical about joining Catholicmatch.com at first. I had heard of so many Internet dating horror stories in the past. I prayed to the Lord to give me strength and guidance as I proceeded to sign in as a new member.

I had been on Catholic Match for almost two months when I decided to expand my search to a wider area. I came across many new faces and profiles. I came upon Teresia, who had such a wonderful profile. I was a bit excited to see a simple but elegant profile. I pondered the thought to send out a smiley emotigram to Teresia. She had such a beautiful profile. What really got me was the photo of her table in the snow with strawberries as eyes, nose and mouth!! What creativity!!

After a couple of days, I logged on to my profile to see if anything was new. I had received a smile back from Teresia!! I was elated that I received a contact!! I proceeded to send another smile and wish her a good day. Teresia corresponded almost immediately and we began a Catholic Match chat. Teresia was so interesting and had told me she was originally from Indonesia. I explained to her that her photo and profile message were beautiful and well put together. We would live chat for a while and pass the time away. Hours went by as we kindled a new friendship.

Teresia and I began talking on the telephone when I went on vacation. I had never spoken on the telephone with anyone in the past!! I was quite a distance away from her, but felt so close. We had so much in common with one another–our love of travel, eating and even praying to God. I felt so warm inside knowing that there is a decent Catholic woman as a friend!

About one month later, on May 13, as I was flying home from vacation, Teresia had asked me on our first date. She had asked me to celebrate Mass with her at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Parish, in Brookfield, CT. I was so happy!! The next morning, I drove from my home in Torrington, CT to meet Teresia there. I wasn't nervous or jumpy like I had been with other first dates in the past. I felt a calming presence as I drove the 50-mile journey.

I had arrived at the parish lobby at about ten in the morning, on Sunday, May 14, 2006. A woman came over to me and asked if she could be of some assistance. I kindly thanked her and waited for Teresia to arrive. About five minutes later, Teresia came in with a big smile and a warm hug. We walked in to the church holding hands and sat down. It felt so great to sit next to a beautiful, professional woman. After Mass, we went to her friends' home. They are very good friends of Teresia. We talked and chatted a bit before Teresia and I departed to go to Taipei Tokyo for lunch.

Teresia and I had so much to talk about. Work, travel, family, friends, food, dreams, etc. After a nice lunch, we went to the Christmas Tree Shop and browsed the aisles. We talked and laughed as if we were in our own little world. Teresia and I picked out a few books on Life and Love. We thought these might be a good idea to read and share with each other.

As we were walking out to our vehicles, I was about ready to thank Teresia for such a wonderful date when she asked if I would like to see her home. I was surprised and said yes, that I would follow her to her home in Danbury. When we arrived, I marveled at such a beautiful home. Teresia has great taste and is very neat. I really was in heaven when we sat and chatted for a bit. I explained that I had to go home and prepare for a new work week. I thanked her again for such a wonderful, memorable day. I asked Teresia if I could take her out for her birthday on Friday. She accepted and I gave her a kiss. I had met such a wonderful, warm woman!!

As the months went by, Teresia and I would commute to one anothers' home. We would spend time alone, hiking, walking, eating, and planning. I was in awe for how much energy Teresia had. I felt alive again and loved every minute of our time together. I was sure I had met my match!!

On Saturday morning, November 18, 2006, Teresia had come to visit me at my home. After we prepared breakfast, I told Teresia to sit on the couch and read the newspaper. While she was reading the newspaper, I went up to my room and took out the little package I had waited to give to her. It had been six months and I felt that it was time to propose her. I got down on my knee in front of her and proposed. She couldn't believe it!! Teresia was so happy and loved the ring that I had given to her. She had said yes and we decided to plan things for our wedding at the beginning of the new year in 2007. On Thanksgiving Day, I told my family that Teresia and I were engaged and planned to get married sometime in the summer of 2007. Everyone had given a super big hurrah and congratulated us. What a feeling!!

Teresia and I followed the rules of the church. We attended Engagement Encounter in New York. It was very tough but we got through it. We both highly recommend it to anyone who is getting married. Marriage is a lifelong commitment not only to each other, but to God as well. Teresia and I attended Mass at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys on a weekly, sometimes daily basis. Other parishoners always mention we are a nice couple. We appreciate the compliments and prayers from our friends.

After many hours of preparation and decision, Teresia's mother and father arrived from Indonesia. It was great to see her mother and father in our lives. Praise to God for the safe arrival of my future mother and father in law!!

On July 14, 2007, Teresia and I made a special bond with each other and God in front of many of our family and friends at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys. It was such a magical day, perfect in every sense from the weather, to the food. It went flawlessly from beginning to end. When we reflected at the end of the day, we prayed that our lives would be blessed in every way.

Teresia and I now reside in Torrington. We have a loving relationship, a strong bond and a lively faith in God. We realize that life is short on earth and we must make the best of every situation. We treasure our family and friends, but most of all God and St. Marguerite Bourgeoys. Teresia and I have been asked many times how we had met. We always mention that we met on Catholicmatch.com. You should see the reaction we get!! It really does work, praise be to God!! Teresia and I wish everyone the very best in their search for their soulmate!! Don't forget to pray because prayers do work!!
