You never know where a smile might take you!
I had been doing internet dating for about six months with no success until I signed up with Catholic Match. I wanted someone to share my life with the same religious values that I had. I wanted to have someone to sit with me at church. I searched the site and came to Rob's profile. I liked what I saw so I sent him a "smile". After a couple of days, he sent one back. We decided to start chatting online. I wanted to take it slow because of my prior experience with this sort of thing. Eventually, he said he wanted to talk to me in person. He hated chatting online. So I agreed to meet him for an hour at a local restaurant one evening. That hour turned into four and the restaurant had to "throw" us out so they could close. I had never been able to talk to any guy like I had talked to Rob that night.
That next weekend I went out with a girlfriend and Rob met up with us. Once she met him, she said she knew it was the real thing. My family also loved him even though he was different. He was a city boy and my family lived on a farm with tractors and such. Anyway, after dating for about a year, he proposed on February 17.
We got married on November 17, 2007. I had found that someone to sit with me at church. I actually believe my father found him for me. My father passed away in 2001, but I think he chose the perfect guy for me. My husband even has the same first and middle name as my father- Robert Joseph. So you see my husband was truly handpicked for me, and I thank God for him every day.
