Success Stories In Brief

Travis & Jamie

I (Travis) had joined CM because I was not meeting any Traditional Catholics locally, and was beginning to wonder if there even were any out there anywhere. After a little less than a year, I met Jamie. She had been on other sites previous, and within a couple days of joining CM, I found her profile, took her quiz, began to email, and everything took off from there. We have been dating for a little over 5 months, and she just accepted my proposal last weekend, and we plan to marry next summer.

Laura & Kenny

We corresponded for almost three months. I (Laura) finally met him in person last month. He is my soulmate and I want to spend the rest of my life with him. I am so glad that I tried this thing and am glad that our faith has brought us together. I will let God guide us everyday and continue to pray for us to make this happen.

Elizabeth & John

We met at a Singles Dance at St Thomas More, Centennial, CO on July 15th 2006. Throughout the evning we talked, and prayed together in the adoration Chapel. By the end of the evening we had decided to see each other again. We are both from Long Island,NY and found we have been in the same place and know the same people for the past thirty years. We married on July 15, 2007 at Immaculate Heart of Mary in High Point, NC in front of family, friends and the community during a Sunday Mass.

Gretchen & Sherman

I (Gretchen) was a member of CM for almost two years and my subscription was up the end of November. I hadn't had any luck finding someone who I connected with, so I was just going to end my membership and move on. Then…………it happened!! I met him…the love of my life. I sent a "smile" to him first and he responded. We chatted online for two nights, and then exchanged phone numbers. We talked the first night and I knew from that moment that he was going to be my husband!! We started talking every few nights, then every other night, and then every single night for like five hours!! We connected on a level that I thought was not possible! The rest is history!!! We were engaged on April 23, 2009 and are planning a November 6th wedding!! Thank you Catholic Match and God bless you all and your continued searching!!! PATIENCE is a virtue and God will show you His paths for you!!!

Tony & Wendy

Wendy and I (Tony) met on Catholic Match on February 17th, 2009. Our first date in person was March 6th, 2009. We hit it off from the very first e-mail. Wendy was actually about to give up on Catholic Match and not renew her subscription when I contacted her. I am lucky she hadn't cancelled yet. Our first date was a Barnes and Noble. We both love books, especially sci fi and fantasy. We both got iced tea and chatted for awhile. Then we went to Panera's for dinner and chatted some more. After dinner I told her I had something for her in my car. Her eyes brightened and we walked out to my car and I gave her a dozen yellow roses (her favorites). She kissed me on the cheek so quickly that I didn't have time to kiss her back. I then walked her to her car and we said our goodbyes, but after agreeing to meet the following Sunday for a movie. It went very well from there and I proposed on May 1st, 2009. Our wedding will be on May 1st, 2010. We both think it is important to know someone through four seasons to really get to know them. It is so much fun planning the wedding together.

Martha & Chris

We started emailing on 4/13/09. I was away from this country and even though we didn't know each other in person, I felt very attached to him and he to me! Ever since I'm back to the States, all we want to do is to spend the rest of our lives with each other. Chris travels about two hours every weekend just to spend it with me! He also doesn't mind staying in hotels. He is now taking care of me while I'm going through a surgery! He's a very sweet and caring man! I'm blessed for finding him through Catholic Match! . God bless all of you!

Valerie & Greg

Who ever thought you could really meet your spouse/best friend through the Internet? Or better yet, who would think a small town, Kentucky girl would fall for a big city, California guy? Valerie sure didn't think so. She had never seriously considered meeting someone this way, it was "just an avenue" to see who was out there. Then along came Greg….. :) Wow! Was it ever refreshing to finally meet someone who shared the Catholic faith along with everything else! After several emails and conversations, she flew from her work assignment in San Francisco to meet this interesting man in Santa Monica. A quick coffee turned into a four hour lunch! A month later, she transferred to L.A., five months later he proposed, and six months after that, they were married! They flew to Valerie's hometown to marry at the church she went to her whole life, St. Gregory the Great, which just happened to be his patron saint. They were so happy to finally be with one another to share their faith, love and lives.

Am a new member of cathloic match, I became a member because it's getting harder and harder to find your real soul match. I talk to one local and boy she put me through a trail of the cathloic faith! The way it was she was looking for a priest not a soul match. I tried to understand her but became to diffcult so I moved on. Am a cathloic but confuss about the faith. How do I get them to understand I need help in understanding. I am a true man of GOD not of the pope.

While I certainly wish everyone involved all the best, it worries me that some of these relationships and engagements seem relatively brief. I used to think that the six-month marriage rule was a lot of malarkey, but as I've grown older and seen the things that can happen in marriages, I think it's a very good minimum at the least. But neither do I see these "engagements for years and years" to be a positive thing. They are dangers to chastity, and though this often gets overlooked, they take "years and years" away from both partners that they can't get back if they decide not to go through with the marriage. There is no "one size fits all" courtship time, but having seen and experienced things that were not positive, I would come down on the side of waiting longer rather than not so long. That's just my slant on it.
