Jason and I discovered each other on Catholicmatch.com in March 2008. I had reluctantly created a profile about a month prior to finding him, as I had never tried 'online dating' before. I was comforted though, by the fact that this was a Catholic site and had hope that I would find someone special. With Jason, it was definitely 'love at first search'. When I read the information on his profile I was taken back by his love for his family, and first and foremost, for God.
For a couple of weeks we sent smiley face emoticons back and forth to each other, until one night I logged on and noticed he had sent me a message. I purchased a subscription so I could read his message, and from that point on wrote each other back and forth for the next month, until we exchanged phone numbers and began communicating by phone.
In May we met in person for the first time, at Olive Garden, where we visited and had dinner together. We were both obviously nervous, but still had a nice time. After that we continued to get to know each other by phone and by spending time together. We wanted to take things slow and get to know each other as friends first, so it wasn't until July when we officially began dating. Through time spent together, talking with our families and friends, and a great deal of prayer, we knew we were meant to be together. In November, Jason proposed, and of course I said yes! We set our wedding date right away, for July 10, 2010, which will be almost two years to the date when we officially started dating. We are looking forward to sharing our lives together, and are still amazed to think it all started right here on Catholicmatch.com.
