Third Day Of Christmas: Leon Prays For Divorced Dads

Leon, a divorced Catholic, has many prayers for 2011.

We’re proud to feature Leon-593843 for the third day of Christmas.

What were the greatest blessings of 2010?

I enrolled in Scripture courses, which led to my growing in knowledge and grace. I enjoy the company of my 1-year-old grandchild, Jackson.

I’m blessed to have a company-sponsored pension and health insurance plan that allows for a comfortable lifestyle.

To see my two children doing well in their graduate studies makes me so proud.

Last July I joined CatholicMatch. I have met many new online friends who are so loving and compassionate.

How has your approach to finding a mate evolved?

Instead of totally looking at her outward appearance, through time I made it a priority to learn about her spiritually and how it coincides with church teachings.

I analyze a woman’s strong and weak attributes by looking into her heart and determining what message she is projecting.

I have prayed for God’s help and guidance and placed my hopes and intentions in His wisdom by memorizing Psalm 34:5, “I sought the Lord who answered me and delivered me from all my fears.”

What’s your CatholicMatch strategy?

My petition of annulment is pending and, as such, I follow the church’s instruction of not dating. I’ve established friendships with a couple of ladies in the meantime but nothing romantic and no formal meetings.

I view two or three profiles weekly and view the forums daily, participating several times a week.

Why do you stay on CatholicMatch?

I use CatholicMatch as an online resource. I feel this site is a wonderful place to meet high quality and very loving people.

What’s your favorite Christmas tradition?

I love attending midnight Mass and singing the beautiful carols. After decorating the tree, I like to sit in a comfortable chair, sipping on hot chocolate or eggnog. I enjoy recalling events of the past year and reminiscing about Christmases past.

What’s your hope for 2011?

I’ve got a long list. A reduction in the number of abortions. That God would grant peace and love among warring nations. That fallen away Catholics could be moved by the Holy Spirit back to the faith.

I pray that children of divorced parents will be shown the love they so deserve and that divorced dads will be involved in every level of their development. I pray for divorced dads and moms to show respect for each other.

I pray that annulled, widowed and never married people seeking a life partner find that person on CatholicMatch.

Last but not least, approval of my petition of annulment.

Make a prediction for 2011.

Leon has been an active participant in the forums, and speaks from the heart. There is a gentle nature about him that is evident. A true gentleman, he is always dispensing words of wisdom from his knowledge and experience in a polite and kind way — always respectful of others. I would encourage those who haven’t read his posts in the forums to do so. Leon has definitely captured the essence of what CM is about and I’m glad to see him recognized here for his efforts and contributions.

Blessings and prayers for you, Leon, that all your hopes & dreams come true in the coming year, that you are finally granted your annulment and are able to proceed in your search for love and commitment with a lady who is awaiting you and is your spiritual equal. You are certainly deserving of every good thing that will be coming your way, You have been an inspiration and a role model for so many on the CM site, and we are blessed to know you.

Oh Yeah!! I was so hoping that Leon– or Uncle Leon, as I call him– would make the list of 12 people profiled. Leon is a great addition to CM and the fora. He is such a gentleman– and not just to the ladies. His kindness and charity extend to all members of CM. I love how he has embraced the community spirit of CM and is making the most of his time here. I know that he says he has gained a lot from CM already, but he is gaining in measure what he has given to us. I am glad that he and I have become friends. As a woman younger than he, I value his insight, wisdom, and life experience. He’s set a high standard, but we all deserve that high standard. I wish you, Uncle Leon, the very best this Christmas and in the New Year. May God be your source of every joy!
