Roger Walked Five Miles In Snow To Meet Kortnie

From the simple to the complex to the unpredictable, CatholicMatch succcess stories keep abounding in a variety of ways

If you read through the success stories here on “Faith, Hope & Love,” you see that meetings come about many different ways. Some relationships click from the start, others take time. Some are with couples who lived around the corner but never knew each other until they went online. Others are with a man and woman who literally travel around the world to find each other.

There’s little you can’t find when it comes to unique experiences. But then, every once in a while, the truly unexpected story surfaces. Like Roger and Kortnie’s first date.

Weather obstacles had to be overcome on their first meeting. They’re both from the D.C. area, and a snow storm came and shut down all roads and transit. But he was determined not to wait for the weather to break, so he put on his snow boots and walked five miles to her building to meet her in person. They found the one open restaurant in the area and had their first date. Several months they were engaged. If children are in their future, Roger can truthfully tell them he marched miles in the snow to meet their mother.

Other successes abound on CatholicMatch…

Lucia Ann has devoted her life to the works of mercy—most especially the care for the sick and dying, in her work as a hospice nurse. It’s no surprise then that Dale called her his “angel of mercy.”

It was only two months into Dale’s membership on CatholicMatch that he crossed paths with Lucia Ann. He reached out to her with a message and they quickly met face-to-face and had what she termed “the most wonderful meeting I have ever experienced…He is all and so much more than what I prayed for.” He was no less enthusiastic, calling her a “dream come true.” The Beatitudes teach us that “Blessed are the merciful” and surely this angel of mercy is blessed indeed.

Karen Rae and Mark, the couple pictured above, met on Labor Day weekend, and, after seeing each other every weekend, became convinced they’d been brought together for wedded life together. He proposed to her on Thanksgiving and she accepted.
