What Are You Doing For Labor Day?

Long-weekend festivities: What are you doing for Labor Day?

“Taking the niece fishing. She’s never been before and it’s high time she did!”

–Tim-734178

“Labor Day weekend I will be visiting Chicago for the first time. I’m very excited! In addition I will be taking a train over to South Bend to visit the beautiful campus of Notre Dame. I will be praying at the grotto and visiting the bookstore. My dad and I will be enjoying our second ND game against USF. We will not be relaxing too much, but I’m expecting we will have a marvelous time.”

“Some of us CatholicMatchers are going to be in Estes Park, Colo., for CM Rocky Mountain Adventure, a weekend filled with mountain hiking, white water rafting and fellowship.”

“Yesserie! Rocky Mountain Adventure, here we all come!”

–Luisa-255441

“I like to keep Labor Day low key. You just cannot beat a Labor Day weekend spent enjoying the water, walking the beach, sitting in the sun, spending time with family, watching the kids tube behind the boat. And if it rains, just spend some time inside playing games, talking…”

–Steve-718929

“Saturday I will be overseeing a cheerleading fundraiser concession stand. The rest of the weekend is unknow thus far, as it will be the first long weekend we will have with our new exchange daughter from Switzerland, so depending on weather, we may be taking a road trip to begin showing her our beautiful state.

–Lynne-136158

“For Labor Day Weekend, I’m just ‘take it as it comes for now – unless something comes up.’”

–Raymond-630852

“Labor Day weekend Sunday is our fall church picnic and this year will be the 90th anniversary! I run the picnic office. It’s a very, very long day, from about 8 am to 2 or 3 am the next morning. The result of this is that I am zonked on Monday but will probably go to the Guadalupe River and go boating with family if it’s not too terribly hot.”

Saturday and Sunday, my son and I will be camping at the White Pines Threshing Show, just east of Mcgrath, MN. It is a fun-filled weekend of demonstrations of old-time machinery, dances, flea market, and just plain old camping. It is close to home and inexpensive entertainment. If you bring a tractor to drive in the parade the camping and admission is free. Check it out if you have time!!

Anticipating a visit from a long-time friend who is coming to the city to take in a Cardinals baseball game with me. We’ll ride the train to downtown, which is also kind of fun. Sunday, after church, four of us gals are going to a rural community to play 18 holes on a local golf course and then have dinner. Monday, I hope to go visit my parents. Tuesday, I will have to go back to work!
