For a divorced person, there are great temptationsthat lay around every corner. The devil has laid traps especially for you because he knows you have a weak spot caused by the pain of your divorce. He uses your circumstances to make you vulnerable to these pitfalls. Christ knows the trials you will be sent (and have been sent). That’s why he has given you the sacraments-to strengthen you, enlighten you, and sustain you through your difficulties. He suffered, died on the cross and went to heaven to prepare a place for us, yet he is still with us here through the sacraments. If you consider the great gifts that are yours, just waiting for you to come and receive them, your life would change considerably. Especially in times of personal difficulty and sorrow, you need the strength and grace that comes from the sacrament of confession and the sacrament of the Eucharist. Christ waits for you, patiently but anxiously, for He has so much to give you. He wants to heal your heart and set it on fire with love.
Anyone who does eat my flesh and drink my blood has eternal life and I shall raise that person up on the last day. – John 6:54
