Come To The Quiet

Divorce can seem like a loud, abrasive, irritating, noisy racket that won’t go away. But quiet times you reserve for prayer are the perfect rememdy for this. Times when you can approach God and rest in Him as a child falls asleep in his daddy’s lap. Are you able to have this childlike relationship with our heavenly Father?

Calling God, “Father” was new to people when the practice was begun by Jesus. People did not have that type of relationship with God. The idea of God as “Father” was a revolutionary one, and Jesus taught us we should call Him “Abba” or “daddy” as a child would.

It can be difficult to approach God as a child, especially when your heart is engulfed in anger. But if you take some time to pray and seek God as “daddy” He will be there and provide the peace and quiet you need, as well as the blessings of a loving Father.

So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father” (Romans 8:15).
