We All Need Somebody To Lean On

Many people who get divorced fall away from their faith because no one is there encouraging them to stay. Have you experienced this?

When you wondered if you would be allowed to attend mass and receive the sacraments, was someone there to help you answer those questions? When you were overwhelmed by grief and needed someone to talk to, someone who would listen and not judge, was someone there for you?

Hopefully, your answer to those questions is “yes.” But many people cannot answer that way, which is tragic.

As you rebuild your life and move past the pain of your divorce, resolve to be the kind of person that will be there for others. You can understand the pain and agony that divorce inflicts. You’ve asked the tough questions and had to wrestle with many critical issues that surround a Catholics experiencing divorce. Resolve to be there for someone else who needs someone to listen, answer, and support. Taking the time for even one soul builds you an everlasting treasure in heaven.

This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you (John 15:12).
