Heartburn Can Be A Good Thing

When the two disciples were on the road to Emmaus after the crucifixion they were feeling afraid of what the future would bring and disillusioned by the hopes they had place in Jesus as being Savior. Christ caught up with them on that road and did not allude to the knowledge of what had happened. He encouraged these down-trodden men to talk to Him and get their disappointments off their chests.

After they had told Him all that had happened, Jesus gave them the gift of recognizing Him and the intense fiery feelings of their hearts when they conversed with Jesus. He did this out of love for them and so they would know it was truly Jesus they were with.

Jesus does the same for us. When you are disappointed, afraid, sad, or lonely, Jesus may not be speaking to you, He may be listening… waiting for you to talk to Him and get all your concerns off your chest. He wants to hear it all from you, your perspective and then He wants to show you the way. He wants to give you that gift of a heart that burns with love.

Dont’ let your disappointments weigh you down. Take time to converse with Christ and let Him bless you with His gifts and love.

They said to each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us when He was talking to us…? (Luke 24:32)
