Some days, it’s difficult to have a positive attitude. You’ve gotten worn down by worries, financial matters, legal matters, trying to heal the hurts from your divorce, fear of the unknown… it can pile up pretty quickly and hit you like a tidal wave.
At a time like this, it’s easy to give in to the temptation to indulge yourself in ways that might make you feel better for a little while, but in the long run are not wise choices. Are you tempted to self-medicate with too much alcohol, too much food, or buy yourself things when you really don’t have the money? If you feel this way, it’s understandable. But recognize the Evil One is using your situation to trip you up and make you fall. Hard.
But know this… you’re better than that! You are loved by Christ in a way that none of what those things bring you could ever compare to. Stand firm in your confidence of God’s love and He will reward you with renewed strength and peace.
Brothers and sisters: For freedom Christ set us fee so stand firm and do not submit again to the yoke of slavery (Galations 5:1).
