A Fresh Adventure Finally Leads to Love

Beth was hoping to find a man who was spiritually mature. The 32-year-old from Kansas City had seen her friends find that special someone on CatholicMatch, so she signed up in the hopes that the same would work for her.

As the adventure-loving artist put herself out there, Ryan was also getting ready to join the site. In his case, the reason was simple—his mother kept after for him to join. “She said that marrying his dad was the best thing that ever happened to her,” Beth told CatholicMatch. “She wanted him to experience love.”

Ryan browsed the site as a free member when he spotted Beth’s profile. He lives in Lawrence, just a 45-minute drive across the Kansas/Missouri border, and when he saw her profile, he became a full member for the express intention of talking to her.

Ryan's mom persuaded him to join CatholicMatch, wanting him to experience love.

Both Ryan and Beth were ready to get “off-line” and into the real world to meet each other as soon as they connected. They did need to wait a week, due to work commitments. Each has travel responsibilities in their job—ironically, they’re both in the pharmaceutical field, one of many things they would prove to have in common.

“We met for nachos and a walk around Lawrence,” Beth recalled. “We instantly wanted to spend more time together.” The very next day they drove to see one of their favorite bands play an outdoor concert and danced, had fun and Beth found out that Ryan loves a good adventure as much as she does.

Ryan and Beth share a passion for the outdoors and have been hiking, kayaking and fishing together.

Over the past four months, they have continued to share adventures together, living what Beth terms an “outdoorsy” relationship, including kayaking, hiking and fishing on a recent vacation to Oregon.

“He is the most beautiful man I have ever met on every level,” Beth said enthusiastically. “We are so much in love and we both know we cannot wait to be together forever.” They will date for a year before making any engagement announcement, but each feel very confident about where this relationship is eventually going.

“We are both sure God meant for us to stumble upon each other eventually,” Beth said. “We are…humbled, and feel lucky…to have such a very awesome thing in our lives. Finally!”

Ryan and Beth will wait several more months before making any announcements, but they're both confident they know what the end-game of this relationship is.

This is about the nicest thing I have ever read!

I have nutritious, delicious, and expeditious food for thought for the young couple!

It has been said that there are three phases to being in love; the initial “in love” phase, the “reality phase” and finally the “safe and happy phase”.

Just want to say regarding the reality phase that, truly, you may be seeing each other most accurately — perhaps as Our Lord sees you — right now while you are experiencing the best and beautiful about each other. This is pretty darn REAL right now, right?

I’m sure there will be the occasional challenge but, just gently suggesting, you will possibly NOT be wiser in the future when you find little quirks and differences and such. Um, we sometimes think that current thinking is somehow better than our thinking from before. A happy and joyous reality is pretty darn cool. Keep it! Just sayin’. Now God bless the two of you. :)

It feels odd that persons want to come and vacation in Oregon.

At first, as I was reading the article and realizing the couple were from the Midwest and seeing that first photo, I kept thinking no way is that Missouri and certainly not Kansas, as flat as it is out there; I see Mt Hood (Oregon). I think they were practically standing on my aunt’s and uncle’s property!

Oregon is a place with a lot of natural beauty.

So happy for the young couple. Congratulations to them and glad they enjoyed Oregon together!

    A lifetime of blessings!!!
